The Atomiser is a useful device for delivering local anesthetic solution to the vocal cords via the mouth. Insert a mixing cannula to the base of the sterilised device. Attach suction tubing (with the rubber tip with the larger diameter cut off) to the device which is connected to wall oxygen at 3-5L/min. Cut a 1cm diameter hole in the suction tubing to act as an "On" button for gas flow. Place 5-10ml of desired local anesthetic solution into the bottle. Aim nozzle tip straight initially to topicalise the posterior oropharynx and insert atomiser the appropriate distance. Withdraw, angle the nozzle inferiorly, and insert again to topicalise the vocal cords.

Can also be angled up to topicalise the nasopharynx
A drawing up cannula needs to have the green end removed, and the cannula inserted into the bottom of the metal component that screws onto to bottle.

The white section of the suction tubing used for oxygen supply needs to be cut off as it's internal diameter is slightly too large, resulting in a loose fit.
