In cardiac MRI, avoid factors that can increase pulmonary vascular resistance (hypercapnia, hypoxia, acidosis, hypothermia, nitrous, and ketamine). This cohort of patients often rely on low pulmonary resistance to maintain an adequate fraction of blood flow to the pulmomary circulation, or maintain adequate cardiac output in patients whose pulmonary blood flow relies on passive venous return (eg completed Fontan's circulation)

Sub group of patients are often particularly preload dependent (eg those with fontan circulation). Consider presence of hypovolaemia & risk of hypotension in this population
