Ask cardiologist to briefly pause screening when you are required to be close to the radiation source (usually at the patient's head & arms). Consider the invisible risk of ionising radiation. It is too easy to forget when you are focusing on performing a task.

If called to help manage an unstable patient, assume no management has been commenced. Ask them over the phone to connect fluids, place oxygen, bring emergency trolley into the room, and call for an arrest team if indicated.

If called to help manage unstable patient overnight, have a low threshold for calling an arrest team, so that adequately stocked emergency kit (often more reliable than stock in cath lab) arrives early.
