To remove air from the inline hand pump open the one way valve at the top of the chamber by tilting it with your thumb and squeeze the air back up the line into the bag.

The inline hand pump can contain a significant amount of air that can be inadvertantly administered to the patient if due attention is not paid to the priming procedure and changeover of fluid bags.
