Anatomical technique:
1cm superomedial to ASIS
1/3 of volume after 2nd pop
Pull back to skin
1/3 of volume after 1st pop
1/3 of volume sub cutaneously along the incision site.
At least 3ml local anaesthetic at each level
Pick the highest concentration you can use down to volume no smaller than 10ml
Eg in a 20kg child you would use 10ml 0.5% ropivicaine;
in a 10kg child 10 ml 0.25% ropivicaine
