A method to classify shock.
1. Distributive/Dilated (sepsis, immunological, anaphylaxis, endocrine, neurogenic, neuraxial block),
2. Cardiogenic (contracility, arrhythmia, valvular disease, intracardiac shunt, constrictive, air lock),
3. Obstructive (pulmonary embolus, pneumothorax, pulmonary hypertension),
3. Hypovolaemic (excessive losses, inadequate intake, third spacing)
