If using a TOE probe cover, to get the gel into the cover without bubbles, connect a green tipped mixing cannula to the gel syringe and gently place it into the bottom of the sheath - when you inject it you minimise bubbles

When inserting a probe in a neonate or infant look at the tidal volume before insertion, watching for any signs of compromised ventilation. #DM
