In the patient is presenting following VF/VT arrest, consider that it may have been secondary to a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Assess clinical picture and ECG, and consider a CT head to rule this out.

In patients presenting following cardiac arrest, the cardiologist will usually insert a femoral pulmonary artery catheter at the end of the case, prior to transport to ICU.

May be asked to assist with general anaesthesia for patients that may not be able to lie flat for the procedure. Intubate only on usual criteria. No specific procedural indications.
