If intubating with muscle relaxant, consider using a short acting muscle relaxant (eg suxamethonium) as procedures are occasionally short. Spraying the cords and trachea with local anaesthetic may help improve tube tolerance in the unrelaxed patient.

Use a nasopharyngeal airway connected to ETT connecter ( ie open ETT 1/2 size smaller than selected nasopharyngeal tube) and connect to anaesthetic machine.

Is this to administer volatile, oxygen, or to ventilate the patient if required?
All three! I use this set up sometimes with just o2 and CPAP (ie close APl valve), sometimes with 8% sevo (esp in kids) and if you need to ventilate the pt this can be done by pinching the other nostril shut and closing the mouth.
If there is tumour around the duodenum, the patient is at risk of gastric outlet obstruction and residual gastric volumes. Discuss the likelihood with endoscopist and if so, consider a rapid sequence-induction

General anesthesia may be easier in adults for linear probe procedures given their longer duration and likelihood of coughing and moving through the procedure.

If biopsies are taken (especially of pancreas), patient may experience postoperative pain. Write up analgesia for recovery.

The endoscope is larger in diameter and stiffer at the end than a normal gastroscope and will be more stimulating at insertion. Additional analgesia will help reduce the response to insertion.
