Listen for tachycardia during laryngoscopy. If it occurs, hypertension will soon follow & suggests patient is not sufficiently anesthetised. Stop laryngoscopy, administer opioid or volatile & continue

Maintain a systolic blood pressure no lower than 110mmHg, even in multi-trauma patients. There is a balance between maintaining an adequate cerebral perfusion pressure (>70mmHg), and permissive hypotension to reduce haemorrhage from other sources, but brain perfusion is a priority.
